Question:
Are Hotfix files necessary? I have quite a few of them on my hard drive and I
could really use the space.
Answer:
Yes, you can delete them. I would wait a few
days before deleting a current Hotfix just to be sure that your system remains
stable. Once you delete a hotfix file, you can no longer uninstall the hotfix.
Here's how to delete them:
- Go to Start>> My Computer
- Double click your hard drive where your
Windows installation resides (usually C:\)
- Double click the WINDOWS folder
- The files in blue ($NTUninstallKBxxxxxx$)
are the hotfix uninstall files.
- Right click a selected file and choose
delete.
