Enable Remote Desktop in Windows XP Home

Q: I am trying to create a remote desktop session using my XP Home edition. When I go to the System Properties and click on the Remote tab, the Remote Desktop enable box is missing. How can I enable a remote desktop session?

A: Windows XP Home edition cannot be used as the Host for a desktop session. It can only act as the client computer for a remote desktop session. You will need Windows XP Professional for this. As an alternative, there are many free third party products that can serve the same purpose.
