I have too many notification icons in my taskbar

Question:

The notification icons in the taskbar has gotten out of control. How can I change the way that Windows displays these icons?

Answer:

Windows provides and easy method of controlling these icons, here's how:

1. Right click an empty portion of the Taskbar
2. Select Properties
3. In the Notification area, place a checkmark next to "Hide inactive icons"
Click the Customize... button.
4. A list of notification icons will now be displayed. Click the item that you would like to change. A drop down menu will now appear under the "Behavior" section.
5. Click one of the following in the drop down menu:

Hide when inactive
Always hide
Always show

6. Click OK.

Your Notification Icon will now be changed to the setting that you've selected.
