Keeps Shutting Down

I've been using Vista for some time, but recently my computer will sometimes shut down by itself occasionally when I run a full-screen application. The screen will just suddenly turn black without warning. What is the problem?

First thing that comes to mind is overheating. Speedfan can mointor the cpu temp (there's others, but I use this). Have you blown the dust out lately?

Whats your specs? Have you installed any Windows updates lately? What kinda programs, like is it just one that causes it, or just anything that is running Full-Screen?
